The Children’s School is a free, public elementary school that offers a nurturing educational environment to meet the diverse needs of District 15 and District 75 students at two sites, one in Gowanus and one in Fort Greene.

What we offer at our ICT site:

  • Innovative team teaching
  • At least 3 educators in every classroom. (Two teachers and one Educational Assistant)
  • Maximum Class Size for K-5 is 25
  • Special education services
  • ENL services
  • Music, dance, science, gym and arts programs
  • Afterschool program
  • Active parent community
  • Free busing available

Students who qualify for Free & Reduced Lunch or are English Language Learners have a strong advantage in the admissions lottery for kindergarten.

Children are admitted to The Children’s School/ P.S. 372 by lottery. Families are asked to fill out a one-page application.

  • Joint Action Routine Schedules/Sensory Diets/Sensory Groups

Applying to Adelphi Site

The District 75 Placement Office helps facilitate the placement process for all students receiving District 75 supports in 6:1:1 classrooms alongside the school’s administrators and staff. At the school level, we can offer tours and answer questions but will work together with the District Placement Office to confirm if a seat is available.
