Our PTA is only as strong as ALL it’s members. Every parent/guardian at the Children’s School is a member of the PTA. So we are asking for each and every parent at The Children’s School to volunteer on a committee or at an event.

After School Committee – Oversees smooth functioning of after school program per PTA/admininstration guidelines.
Arts Committee – Oversees arts programing, policy decisions, administering arts funds, and making arts budgeting decisions with Ms. Rosa. Chair: Sandi Stratton-Gonzalez (email@example.com)
Communications & Technology Committee – This committee maintains the PTA website and creates the school newsletter and other event publicity.
Financial Audit – Work with the Treasurer and Presidents to review financials on a regular basis throughout the year. Keep track of fundraising efforts throughout the year including Annual Appeal.
Fundraising and Grants Committee – Research new grants/sponsorships. Pursue these opportunities in collaboration with PTA and school staff.
Garden Committee – Work with our Garden Chair to maintain the wonderful inclusions garden.
Gear Committee – Assist in selling school themed gear such as t-shirts, water bottles and tote bags.
Green Initiatives Committee – Implement Green Initiatives at our School.
Lice Committee – This year there will be three lice checks coordinated by the PTA. Volunteers help direct the children to and from their classes. You will not be checking for lice.
Pizza Friday – Assist with distributing pizza to children at lunch on Fridays. The first session of Pizza Friday begins in October.
Social Committee – Plan social events, build community.
Roots & Community – (Oct.) School-wide celebration of heritage and community in the Fall.
Book Fair – (Nov.) Volunteers needed for the school-wide book fair.
Giving Tree Committee – (Dec.) Work with school staff on the Holiday Gift Drive at our school to help families and individual children in need within our school and the larger community.
Winter Festival – (Dec.) Set up and run the basket raffle.
Valentine’s Day Dance – (Feb.) Set up, monitor, and break down this schoolwide family event.
Auction/Gala – (March) Work on a team to plan the silent auction and gala is one of our most important school fundraisers.
Arts & Science Day – (May) This community event combines our Arts and Science Days into one fun-filled enriching event includes performances by kids and parents, activity stations, and workshops. Many volunteers are needed to put this huge event together.
Carnival – (June) In-school Carnival with Pizza Party for all the Children to celebrate the end of another successful school year.
Staff Appreciation Lunch – (June) This is a PTA-sponsored event to honor the staff at the end of the year. Food ordering, decoration, raffle items, plant/gift, and clean up.
