1.       Free Summer Meals Program—June 27-Aug. 30

School is out and free summer meals are available from June 27 to August 30. Any child 18 years or younger can enjoy a healthy free breakfast and lunch at different schools, pools, parks, New York City Housing Authority complexes and other locations around the city. No registration, documentation or ID is required. SchoolFood will also deploy three mobile food trucks this summer to beaches and parks to handout free delicious and nutritious lunches to as many children as possible.

2.       School Community Resource Library

A virtual library on the DOE’s website has several brochures that can help families, school staff and others stay informed and involved regarding policies in our schools. The brochures are available in 10 languages and can be viewed online or printed. Brochure topics include Response to Intervention (RtI), parent leadership opportunities in Education Councils, Parent Associations and School Leadership Teams, the discipline code, and special education services.
