Letter From Miss Rosa

March 23, 2020

Dear Children’s School Families and Students:

We miss all of your faces already!

I hope this letter finds you all well. Thank you for the many kind words you have shared with your child’s classroom staff. They are all working at getting your Google Classroom up and running so that the students and the teaching staff can continue to have contact with you all through this difficult time. We spent last week organizing our remote learning plans, contacting every family to make sure that you have the necessary technology needed and to make certain that you have access to the remote systems we are creating. At this time, every student from PreK to 8th grade at our Carroll Street and Adelphi Street locations have been given a gmail account in order to access the google classroom.

Students and families are encouraged to participate in the check ins, assignments, and activities that teachers have created. We certainly understand if you cannot follow every detail outlined by the remote plans. Do your best and make sure to communicate with your administrators, teaching staff and parent coordinator if the need arises. This is a stressful enough time and we do not wish to add to that.

Technology distribution began last week. If you are in need of technology, please reach out to our Parent Coordinator who can assist you with completing the survey that was released by the Chancellor’s office. We wish to make sure that every student who can participate in remote learning can do so with the necessary technology.

School is not cancelled, it is just different! This is a time to stay connected albeit remotely. This is a time to learn from one another as some of us are technology savvy and some of us not. If you have ideas for us, please share them. You will continue to receive information from your teachers beginning March 23, 2020 as this is the launch date for Remote Learning.

Please send me photos and emails telling me about all of the things you are doing while we are away from one another.

I want to thank you in advance for your patience during this difficult time. We can do this together! Our school community will rock this.

May you be healthy. May you be safe. May you be happy.

Rosa Amato,

Principal, 372K
