Run for the PTA Executive Board

PS 372 is not just a school. For over 30 years, we’ve been a community celebrating the full spectrum of learning styles– students, staff and families alike.

Part of what makes our unique school so special is the community of parents, teachers and staff who work together to supplement our children’s educations with financial and logistical support. The PTA needs new members to continue this important work.

Interested in Serving on the SLT?

The Children’s School is currently seeking candidates to run for 3 (three) parent seats on the School Leadership Team (SLT). The SLT provides an excellent forum for committed parents to make a valuable contribution to our school. New York State Education Law requires every New York City Public School to have a School Leadership Team.

What is the SLT?
The SLT is composed of Children’s School administrators, teachers and parents who meet once monthly and work collaboratively to develop the school’s Comprehensive Educational Plan for the year and ensure it is aligned with the school’s budget. Additionally, the SLT assists in evaluating and assessing the school’s educational programs and provides a forum to address issues specific to the school community, such as diversity, safety, expansion, social emotional community building and parent-teacher communications. Upcoming Events – May and June

Next week is a short-week, but a fun one. School is closed on Monday.

On Wednesday and Thursday we will celebrate Field Day on the turf at JJ Byrne park.  Students should come to school as usual and will walk to and from the field with their classes.  Parents are welcome to watch at the field but please do not go directly there with your student.  PERMISSION SLIPS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RETURNED ALREADY AND ARE REQUIRED.

Students will also return to school with their teachers. PreK-2nd will play on Wednesday and 3rd – 5th participate on Thursday. Students from Adelphi will join on both days — check with your teachers for the schedule.
