For the first time in this year, basil was available as part of Pizza Friday. We pulled about a bushel from the garden, and the kids ate every single leaf, with very little
prompting. After we set out stalks in coffee cans for a fragrant display, the first graders helped themselves, plucking off leaves and placing them onto their slices.
