Be a Part of our Celebration of Roots and Community!

The Roots & Community Celebration will take place on:

Saturday November 14th at 5:30pm

It is a FREE school wide event that sees the Children’s School gym transformed into a multi-cultural extravaganza that reflects the rich diversity of our school. The night will feature food, crafts, performances, and activities from every corner of the globe.

We need your help to make this happen.

How?

  1. Cultural Booths: Families put together tables displaying different aspects of the culture or country they would like to celebrate (with pictures, food, and activities, etc). You can join one of the cultural tables in progress or start your own table that will teach our children and others about your culture. Tables in progress include: Britain, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Jewish Cultures, Palestine, and Portugal. Please email Anne Baker or Clare Lambe to get involved. (aebaker@nyc.rr.com, clarelambe@gmail.com)
  2. Performance: We are looking for a few fearless, talented, and diverse members of our school community to share music and/or dance reflective of our school cultural make-up, such as the Irish performers or the Chinese Ribbon Dancers of last year’s event. Ms Sandi has already tossed her hat in to lead a country dance. Please email Rai Ariz for more information and to join the fun. (raiariz372@gmail.com)
  3. Potluck: Sign up to bring a dish here.

Please join us to make this great event happen and reach out to us today!
