As required by State law, schools are responsible for ensuring that students are fully vaccinated against specific preventable diseases in order to attend school. The following are changes to immunization requirements that will be in place for the 2014-15 school year:
* Two doses of chicken pox (varicella) vaccine are now required for all students entering kindergarten or sixth grade. Previously, two doses were recommended, but only one dose was required.
* Three to to five doses of polio (IPV/OPV) vaccine are now required for all students entering kindergarten or sixth grade. Previously, three doses were required.
* Four to five doses of DTap/DPT/TD re now required for all students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Previously, three doses were required.
