This is what the garden looks like at the end of a productive season. The asters, primrose and goldenrod are in bloom (to support migrating Monarch butterflies) and the herbs are starting to flower or “go to seed.” The are eggplant, sweet peppers, tomatoes, oregano, basil, peppermint, spearmint, lemon verbena and other herbs that can be dried or otherwise preserved. Try some! The parent, teacher and staff community is welcome to harvest herbs or veg before Saturday Nov 5th, when we’ll host a group work day to winterize the garden. (Volunteer grownups and children are needed: Learn more here)
