Food, Fun, and Festive Dancing at Roots & Community

There was a fantastic turnout of enthusiastic children and adults at our second annual Roots & Community celebration on Saturday. Our school community explored African Roots, Australia, Britain, China, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jewish Heritage, Louisiana, Palestine, The Philippines, and Peru—all without leaving our gym!

Over in Africa, special guest and Principal Mr. Artie posed for a group shot:

In Great Britain, the queen gave a suspicious look to the punk rocker at her side, while a knight from Camelot, Harry Potter, and some smaller punk rockers-in-training sampled British snacks.

In Greece, beading activities happened alongside a spread of spanakopita, olives, wine, and other Mediterranean treats.

Spanakopita, greek wine, feta cheese and other goodies were at Greek table

Over in the Philippines, George helped serve sweet treats in authentic garb.

Several talented performance acts got everyone up on their feet.
