Our School Garden at The Children’s School is participating!
Ten of our public school gardens will open their gates on one special day!
Garden Train, the District 15 School Gardens Consortium, will host the 1st Annual Brooklyn School Gardens Crawl on Saturday, September 29. The Crawl is a community event where 10 participating school gardens welcome community members into their gardens for a day of free, family-friendly activities across School District 15. Join us at at 9am for opening remarks from activist and farmer Karen Washington and choose your own school garden adventure with our passport map of participating schools! Those who visit three or more school gardens will be eligible for prizes at our After Party from 3:15pm-4:30pm back at Old Stone House. Grow to Learn will provide snacks and refreshments and we’ll celebrate the day with live music by Jason Reischel, and a garden yoga session for adults and children led by Amanda Sidran!
The 10 participating school gardens are located throughout the district from Red Hook to Kensington: PS 15, PS 29, PS 32, PS 39, PS 133, PS 146, PS 154, PS 230, PS 295, and PS 372.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS ON THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29:
9 to 9:45 am: Kickoff at Old Stone House in Park Slope, 336 3rd St.
Featured speaker: Karen Young-Washington, Food justice activist, community gardens leader and “Queen of Urban Farming”
Bagels and coffee will be provided by our host, Old Stone House of Brooklyn
10 am to 2 pm: The 1st Annual Brooklyn School Gardens Crawl!
The public is welcome to visit one or more of the participating school gardens. Participants who visit three or more gardens will be eligible for prizes at the after party. The following schools welcome you to visit their garden, which will have special activities planned from 10 am to 2 pm.

Aquellos que visiten tres o más jardines escolares serán elegibles para premios después de la fiesta de 3:15 pm a 4:30 pm en La Vieja Casa De Piedra localizada en el 336 de la calle tercera, Brooklyn, Nueva York 11215.
Crecer para Aprender ofrecerá bocadillos y refrescos y celebraremos el día con música en vivo de Jason Reischel, y una sesión de yoga en el jardín para adultos y niños dirigida por Amanda Sidran.
