Letter to Parents from Our New Principal, Ms. Rosa Amato

ms-rosaJanuary 19, 2016

Dear Children’s School Community,

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the newly appointed Principal of the Children’s School. I spent my first week as Principal visiting every classroom, greeting families and children at the front door, reading to the Pre-K classes, participating in writing celebrations and Responsive Classroom morning meetings, observing students making snowmen out of fruit, and many more wonderful experiences. It was truly an amazing first week.

I am passionate about education. During my career in Education, I was a Paraprofessional, a teacher, Dean of Students, a Unit Coordinator and most recently an Assistant Principal right here at the Children’s School. I am both elated and honored to be appointed to my very own school, where I can continue my work with the students, staff and parents.

Along with the staff and parents, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at the Children’s School by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners. Together we will focus on the use of data to inform instruction, Responsive Classroom to emphasize academic, social, and emotional growth, and provide exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities that focus on assuring the rigor of instruction in meeting the Common Core Learning Standards.

During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students the best opportunities in preparing for the world, ready to master challenges placed in their path. As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss your concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this year the best it can be!

Sincerely,

Rosa Amato

Principal
