Could this be the larva of a Monarch Butterfly?

Three years ago, Mead & Steve’s 2nd grade class worked hard to raise the special milkweed plants that support this troubled species through the Growing A Wild Brooklyn & Queens program.  It’s hard to tell, but the critter I spotted Tuesday morning on Denton Place was eating milkweed flowers. Time will tell what type of insect this really is…
