The Diversity Committee is pleased to announce that our proposed project, which was included on Council Member Landers Participatory Budgeting ballot, has received enough votes to get funded!!
The project will hire a temporary part-time outreach coordinator who will start in July 2018 and work with the three district wide schools in Council District 39 (PS 372, PS 133 and the Brooklyn New School).
The coordinator will assist the schools to share best practices and work together to create a coordinated outreach plan that will increase economic and linguistic diversity at all three schools.
The larger goal of this project is that it will serve as a citywide model to demonstrate that providing assistance to schools who are participating in the New York City DOE’s Diversity in Admissions Program helps those schools achieve the program’s goals.
Congratulations to the hard-working Diversity Committee for making this happen!
